§ 22-77. Confidentiality.

  • (a)

    All records relating to pawnbroker transactions delivered to appropriate law enforcement officials pursuant to F.S. § 539.001 are confidential and exempt from the provisions of F.S. § 119.07(1) and Fla. Const., art. I, § 24(a), and may be used only for official law enforcement purposes. This section does not prohibit the disclosure by law enforcement officials of the name and address of the pawnbroker, the name and address of the conveying customer, or a description of pawned property to the alleged owner of pawned property.

    (b)

    This section is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act of 1995 in accordance with F.S. § 119.15 and shall stand repealed on October 2, 2001, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment by the state legislature.
