§ 66-29. Failure to obey notice; alteration or destruction of notice prohibited.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for the responsible party, as defined in section 66-27 to neglect to answer to the charge set forth in a parking violation notice affixed to a motor vehicle by a law enforcement officer or a code enforcement officer.

    (b)

    The notice referred to in subsection (a) of this section, a parking violation notice, is the property of the city before and after the serving, delivery and affixing thereof. All persons receiving any such notice in writing, whether by personal service or by affixing the same to a motor vehicle, shall be and are hereby required to preserve such notice and to bring and present, or otherwise transmit the same to the code enforcement division when answering to the charge set forth in such notice.
